Roger Clemens and Josh Beckett, that is. And that’s the featured matchup tonight. Should be fun if a beanball war breaks out. These two would throw at batters in the Special Olympics. Not sure that Clemens can hold up his end of things tonight, however. Cross your fingers, haters. Last night Tumbling Dice proved that he can’t handle the pressure- he left a fastball up and Damon tapped it into the right field seats. Final score- 5-3, the Yankees win!
Game Notes: J.D. Drew looked like he was on the verge of tears after hitting into a late inning double play. Dustin Pedroia plays the infield like a circus chimp. He rolls, dives, and generally throws himself at any groundball in his vicinity. Simian features, too. Manny hurt himself and left the game.
And in other news, the Devil Rays continued their wildcard push, beating the Birds 15-8. Nothing like an 11 run 8th inning we always say.
