Opening Day at Fenway is not a Devil Ray

Kenmore Square is already filling up. For Red Sox fans, this is a ritual that stretches back, oh, about ten years. Sure, its always been a tough ticket to get but only recently has it been elevated to High Mass. Today the Red Sox will honor the 1967 team that won the World Series in dramatic fashion. Wait! They didn’t win the World Series. They never won the World Series. The Red Sox have won only one World Series since 1918 and that was a couple of years ago (no, not last year). So what are we celebrating here, falling short? Seems perfect.

Beckett starts today and should add a few crooked numbers to his ERA.

OK. I have eyes. The Mariners are hobbled by frost-bite.

13-1 in the 5th. At this rate the game will be over around 8. Even Jason Varitek is having a good day.
